External wall insulation<\/strong> is a widely used solution for improving the thermal performance of building fa\u00e7ades in both new construction and renovation projects. The insulation is installed continuously on the external side of the wall and completed with a reinforced base coat and an external finishing system.<\/p>\n

By creating a continuous insulation layer around the building envelope, external wall insulation helps reduce heat transfer and limit thermal discontinuities<\/strong> at structural elements such as columns, beams and floor edges.<\/p>\n

Ediltec offers two insulation solutions for this application: X-FOAM\u00ae WAFER<\/strong>, made of extruded polystyrene (XPS), and POLIISO\u00ae ED<\/strong>, made of rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam.<\/p>\n

X-FOAM\u00ae WAFER<\/strong> features a distinctive wafer-patterned surface and is available in thicknesses from 20 to 240 mm<\/strong>, with compressive strength from \u2265 200 to \u2265 250 kPa depending on thickness<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

POLIISO\u00ae ED<\/strong> is faced on both sides with saturated mineralised glass fibre and provides high thermal performance, with declared thermal conductivity \u03bbD from 0.025 to 0.028 W\/mK depending on thickness<\/strong>. It is available in thicknesses from 30 to 160 mm<\/strong> and provides a compressive strength of \u2265 150 kPa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The choice of insulation product and the complete fa\u00e7ade system should be based on the required thermal performance, substrate, building characteristics and compatibility between all components of the external insulation system.<\/p>\n
