Industrial floors and cold storage rooms require thermal insulation capable of maintaining its performance under demanding mechanical and thermal conditions.
In industrial buildings, the floor build-up may be subjected to high permanent and variable loads, including loads generated by storage systems, machinery and material-handling vehicles. In temperature-controlled and cold-storage environments, the insulation also plays an essential role in limiting heat transfer through the floor.
Extruded polystyrene (XPS) is particularly suited to these applications thanks to its combination of thermal performance, low water absorption and high compressive strength.
The X-FOAM® HBT range provides different levels of compressive strength according to the mechanical requirements of the project:
- X-FOAM® HBT: ≥ 300 kPa
- X-FOAM® HBT 500: ≥ 500 kPa
- X-FOAM® HBT 700: ≥ 700 kPa
This allows the insulation solution to be selected according to the loads and performance requirements of the complete industrial or cold-storage floor.
