A metal deck roof is a lightweight flat or low-slope roofing system commonly used for industrial, commercial and large-span buildings. The roof structure is based on a profiled metal deck that supports the thermal insulation and the waterproofing system above it.
This construction is typically configured as a warm roof, with the thermal insulation installed above the metal deck and below the waterproofing membrane. The different layers are designed to work together to provide thermal insulation, weather protection and the required mechanical performance.
POLIISO® ED is particularly suitable for metal deck roof applications. The rigid closed-cell polyisocyanurate (PIR) panel is faced on both sides with saturated mineralised glass fibre and provides a compressive strength of ≥ 150 kPa. Its declared thermal conductivity λD ranges from 0.025 to 0.028 W/mK depending on thickness, according to EN 13165.
The combination of PIR thermal performance and a lightweight roof construction makes POLIISO® ED a suitable insulation solution for non-treadable metal deck roofs, particularly in industrial and commercial buildings.
