Cavity wall insulation consists of installing a continuous thermal insulation layer within the space between the inner and outer leaves of a double-wall construction.
Positioning the insulation within the cavity helps reduce heat transfer through the building envelope while allowing the internal wall structure to remain on the conditioned side of the insulation. The external leaf provides the architectural finish and contributes to protecting the inner wall layers from direct exposure to weather.
POLIISO® PLUS is a rigid closed-cell polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation panel particularly suited to cavity wall applications where high thermal performance with limited insulation thickness is required.
With a declared thermal conductivity λD of 0.022 W/mK, POLIISO® PLUS provides high thermal resistance while allowing the required thermal performance to be achieved with relatively limited thicknesses. The panel is faced with aluminium foil and provides a compressive strength of ≥ 150 kPa.
POLIISO® PLUS is available in both 600 × 1200 mm and 1200 × 3000 mm formats. The large-format version is particularly suitable for extensive vertical surfaces, reducing the number of joints required across the insulated wall.
