The food cold chain includes all the temperature-controlled stages required to preserve perishable products during storage, handling and transportation, from production through to distribution.
Maintaining the required temperature conditions throughout the journey is essential for preserving the quality of products such as meat, fish, dairy products, fruit, vegetables and frozen foods. Refrigerated transport therefore requires vehicles capable of limiting heat transfer between the external environment and the temperature-controlled load compartment.

X-FOAM® TRC is an extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation board designed for applications such as refrigerated and isothermal vehicle bodies and sandwich panels. The product combines thermal insulation, low water absorption, mechanical performance and low weight, making it particularly suitable as an insulating core within lightweight composite constructions.
X-FOAM® TRC is manufactured without extrusion skin and with longitudinal grooves on its surfaces, a configuration specifically designed for integration into composite and sandwich-panel constructions. It provides a compressive strength from ≥ 200 to ≥ 300 kPa depending on thickness and is available in large-format 600 × 3000 mm boards, with thicknesses from 20 to 100 mm.
