X-FOAM® HBT 500 is an indigo-blue thermal insulation board made of extruded polystyrene (XPS), with extrusion skin and four shiplap edges. It is designed for building applications requiring thermal insulation combined with high mechanical performance, particularly where the insulation layer is subjected to significant compressive loads.
The board has a compressive strength of ≥ 500 kPa, making X-FOAM® HBT 500 suitable for demanding applications such as carriageable inverted roofs and parking roofs, industrial floors, cold storage rooms and below-ground walls.
X-FOAM® HBT 500 is manufactured in a standard size of 600 × 1250 mm and is available in thicknesses from 50 to 240 mm. The wide thickness range allows the insulation layer to be dimensioned according to the thermal performance required by the project, while the four shiplap edges contribute to creating a continuous and accurately connected insulation layer.
The product is classified Euroclass E for reaction to fire according to EN 13501-1.
X-FOAM® HBT features four shiplap edges, allowing adjacent boards to overlap along their perimeter. It provides a compressive strength of ≥ 300 kPa and is available in thicknesses from 30 to 240 mm.
X-FOAM® HBT 500 is designed for applications requiring higher mechanical performance, with a compressive strength of ≥ 500 kPa. Typical uses include industrial floors, cold storage rooms, below-ground walls and carriageable inverted roofs.
High-compressive-strength XPS, such as X-FOAM® HBT 500 or HBT 700, is suitable for inverted roof systems designed to support vehicle traffic. The appropriate grade must be selected according to the loads and complete structural build-up.
