POLIISO® SB

POLIISO® SB is a thermal insulation panel made of rigid closed-cell polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam, specifically configured for roof insulation applications with bituminous waterproofing membranes. The panel has two different facings: the upper side consists of bituminised glass fibre, while the lower side is faced with saturated mineralised glass fibre.

Depending on thickness, POLIISO® SB has a declared thermal conductivity λD ranging from 0.025 to 0.028 W/mK according to EN 13165 and a compressive strength of ≥ 150 kPa. The panels are manufactured in a standard size of 600 × 1200 mm and are available in thicknesses from 30 to 160 mm.

The upper bituminised facing makes POLIISO® SB suitable for applications beneath bituminous membranes installed by torch-on application. The panel has a maximum operating temperature of 110 °C, an important characteristic for this type of roof build-up.

POLIISO® SB is suitable for warm roofs beneath bituminous membranes, ventilated pitched roofs beneath bituminous membranes and warm green roof systems, combining PIR thermal insulation with a facing specifically designed for bituminous waterproofing applications.

Frequently asked questions - faq

Can POLIISO® SB be used beneath torch-applied bituminous membranes?

Yes. POLIISO® SB has a bituminised glass-fibre upper facing and is suitable for applications beneath torch-applied bituminous membranes. Its maximum operating temperature is 110 °C.

What is the difference between POLIISO® SB HD and POLIISO® SB?

The main difference is mechanical performance. POLIISO® SB HD is the high-density version and provides a compressive strength of ≥ 200 kPa, compared with ≥ 150 kPa for POLIISO® SB.
