X-FOAM® HBT is an indigo-blue thermal insulation board made of extruded polystyrene (XPS), with extrusion skin and four shiplap edges. The edge profile helps create a continuous insulation layer by improving the connection between adjacent boards.
X-FOAM® HBT has a compressive strength of ≥ 300 kPa and is designed for thermal insulation applications where good mechanical performance, dimensional versatility and suitability for demanding construction build-ups are required.
The boards are manufactured in a standard size of 600 × 1250 mm and are available in a wide range of thicknesses, from 30 to 240 mm. This allows the insulation layer to be dimensioned according to the thermal performance required by the project, including applications requiring greater insulation thicknesses.
X-FOAM® HBT is classified Euroclass E for reaction to fire according to EN 13501-1.
Thanks to its combination of mechanical performance, shiplap edges and available thicknesses, X-FOAM® HBT is suitable for several building applications, including treadable and non-treadable inverted roofs, green roofs, pitched roofs with a ventilated cavity beneath the roof covering, industrial floors and below-ground walls.
X-FOAM® HBT features four shiplap edges, allowing adjacent boards to overlap along their perimeter. It provides a compressive strength of ≥ 300 kPa and is available in thicknesses from 30 to 240 mm.
X-FOAM® HBT 500 is designed for applications requiring higher mechanical performance, with a compressive strength of ≥ 500 kPa. Typical uses include industrial floors, cold storage rooms, below-ground walls and carriageable inverted roofs.
High-compressive-strength XPS, such as X-FOAM® HBT 500 or HBT 700, is suitable for inverted roof systems designed to support vehicle traffic. The appropriate grade must be selected according to the loads and complete structural build-up.
